About Us - Pawz For A Cause
Once upon a time the canine stork (Martha's Pampered Pups) brought a special little boy into our life. He has the biggest, brownest eyes, and a smile that would melt the heart of anyone. Even has a firm paw shake. This little ball of fluff was given the name of Franklin Otto by my daughter, Sarah. She admired former President Franklin Roosevelt, and she loved her Grandfather, Otto Williams who recently had passed away. So Franklin Otto was this little guy's name, although he is often referred to as fluff butt, Frankie, boo, and the terms of endearment just keep going.Franklin, who is a beautiful year and half old Bichon Frise weighing in at 10 pounds, is the resident model at PFAC. Being the handsome fellow he is, naturally I wanted him to have only the best attire. However, retail pet stores often left us bored, tired and empty handed. When we did find something we liked, it never fit since he is an odd size where smalls are too small and mediums are too big. So, I started making all of his accessories myself. He would prance around with delight (and sometimes disgust when I took too many photos) in the cutest wardrobe you ever saw. He got compliments everywhere he went and he was voted "best dressed" in his obedience class.
Not long ago I found out that a local rescue organization, Save A Pet, Inc, was in need of collars and leashes for their rescues. I knew I could make those items for them and have those rescues looking like a million bucks. I wanted those furbabys to have the best - just like I want for my own dog. Plus, this was a way I could help some furry friends and give back to the community I have called home since birth - Forsyth, Georgia. So PFAC was born and I haven't slowed down yet. Within a short time PFAC products were in two different stores and we currently have a request from a third.
My name is Benae Hogan. I am the human behind the business. I am a nurse and I work with seniors and others with "different" abilities to find health services to care for them in their home. I am the Mother of an 18 year old young lady, Sarah, who will be a Freshman at Georgia Southern University this fall. My mother taught me at an early age to sew, although I didn't listen as much as I should. I learned enough! Even today, with my Mom in a nursing home and her eyesight failing, she still inspects some of my work and is quick to point out any "problems". I make most of the accessories myself, using only the best quality fabrics and ribbon. Items available from PFAC that I do not make myself, are from the best manufacturers in the US.
We hope you and your furbaby will find something special here at PFAC and be proud knowing that when you make a purchase for your pet, you are helping another pet that has not been as fortunate as yours or mine. If you are looking for something you don't see, please don't hesitate to ask us. We are always looking for new items to add for our furry customers. Enjoy your visit at PFAC and please come back often to see new items and our progress as we grow. As always, we appreciate your business and the animals thank you too!
